Have you walked just feet behind a lion, or contemplated eating a cockroach cigar, or found the most beautiful spot to visit in California that takes your breath away each time you go? There are some people who take vacations, and there are some people who research travel destinations around the world and make travel an integral part of their yearly lives. Meet some of the LIS folks who take travel to a new level, and gain some good travel tips for yourself.
Panelists:
Adria Hirsch is Research and Library Manager at Latham & Watkins in New York. She obtained her MLIS degree from San Jose State University. Adria is self-described as wanderlust addicted. She has traveled to 32 countries across 5 of the 7 continents. Adria also enjoys photography and cooking. KC Hudson is the Digital Literacy Librarian for Martin County Library System (FL). She received her MLS from University of South Florida and started working for PwC as a research analyst in 2007. After sailing the seven seas for several years, she now lives in her hometown, where she brings emerging technology such as virtual reality and 3D printing to public libraries in coastal Florida. Hobbies include reading, running, and researching the next trip!

Since joining WNET in 2000, she has collected, catalogued, stored, accessed, and retrieved audiovisual and other materials from the WNET archives, as well as participated in the implementation of the digital archive, determining standards, protocols, and best practices. She holds a Master of Library Science degree from Queens College. Winter is an avid traveler who has visited 23 states and 10 countries including Cuba, Greece, Hungary, Italy, and Spain, to name just a few. She enjoys traveling off-season so that she can immerse herself as much as possible in the people, culture and food of each place she travels. Being a true librarian, she documents her travels with stories told through photographs on Instagram (@wshanck) and on her personal blog, Savory Sweet Neat.
