The 8th Dominican Book Fair in New York

The 8th Dominican Book Fair in New York took place from September 26-28, 2014 under the theme "The Book is the Best Friend." The Fair included author talks, storytelling, poetry readings, plays and workshops. Library services in the Dominican Republic were featured in various programs including a special presentation about the Presidential Library, La Biblioteca Juan Bosch made by its director, Aida Montero.  The successful event also dedicated spaces for special programs featuring Dominican films, history, and children and YA literature. Books by Dominican authors were donated to New York City public schools and colleges. Loida Garcia-Febo, Chair of the ALA International Relations Committee was invited to the event attended by thousands of people.
