NIT Silchar, India - University
of Illinois Urbana Champaign, USA
Presents
International
Library Conference on
"What’s Next in Libraries? Trends, Space, and Partnerships”
January 21-23,
2015
Creating a
vibrant and sustainable library ecosystem requires that librarians and
libraries adapt, change, and innovate to stay relevant to users and home
institutions. What are the current trends in successful academic and public
libraries? How do we as professionals re-imagine library space that is flexible
and attractive? How do we develop
partnerships that advance the mission of our libraries?
These are among some of the
questions that will be examined and discussed by librarians from the United
States, India, and other countries who will interact during this three-day
conference to build skills, learn from colleagues, and return home with
practical ideas.
In this
Conference, library professionals from the University of Illinois will work
with librarians from the region and from other countries to discuss how new
technologies can open access to information and knowledge for library
users. The series of workshops and
papers will consider how to best build on the opportunities offered by the new
technologies.
The conference format will encourage
individual participants to become engaged in discussions and presentations
through a variety of sessions, including lectures, posters, “lightning” talks,
individual consultations, roundtable discussions and workshops.
