New IFLA North American Regional Division Committee- Seeking Candidates

Dear ALA member:

With updates to the IFLA organizational structure, there will be a new North America Regional Division which will be represented through a North America Regional Committee for a term 2021-2023. The Committee can nominate up to 20 members, 10 elected from the U.S. and 10 from Canada.

Candidates need to have three IFLA members to nominate them to be put on the ballot and be an ALA member. ALA will work with other North America associations to nominate, include those selected to ensure the needed three nominations.  Being nominated does not guarantee you will be elected as it will be an open ballot voted upon by all IFLA members in North America.

Regional Division Committees comprise members from across each region who can support the development and delivery of action plans that respond to the needs of the library field across the region. They will contribute to IFLA’s overall strategy and work with other relevant committees and groups to increase library advocacy within the region.

If you are interested in being nominated to serve on this Committee, please send a short message (five paragraphs at most) of interest that would include a description of your background that would be pertinent, along with a CV or resume by March 19th to intl@ala.org

Those nominated will need to complete a consent form to IFLA by the deadline of April 13, 2021.

ALA has completed its nomination process for all other IFLA positions.

Thanks for your interest in serving.
