Monday, Nov 16 Online-Seminar 'Why do libraries need buildings?

Dear colleagues,

we invite you to participate at the online German-Dutch dialogue on the future of libraries.
The series will start with the topic: Library Buildings - Why do Libraries need Buildings?

The rapid propagation of digital services from libraries might lead to the conclusion that libraries are moving more and more into immaterial spheres. So, what is the reason that libraries are newly built or modernised for sometimes considerably high amounts of money? Questions like this will be discussed in our webinar by two experts in library buildings and in library politics.

Speakers:

  • Theo Kemperman (Public Library Rotterdam)
  • Olaf Eigenbrodt ( State and Univ. Library Hamburg)

Moderator:

  • Barbara Lison, Public Library Bremen; IFLA president-elect

Date:

Monday, 16 November 2020; 11:00 - 12:00 (CET)

Registration is required; the online seminar is free of charge and in English: https://eur-nl.libcal.com/event/3501120

The series will continue every month on a different topic which is currently of interest to library developments. Subjects being discussed will come from all areas of the library landscape, like artificial intelligence, sustainability in libraries, UX design, library staff recruitment.

We are looking forward to your participation!

Kind regards,

Hella
