I am writing to bring your attention to several unique Fulbright Scholar awards in library and information science that I am certain will be of interest to the members of your listserv. In addition to providing valuable international faculty development and personal enrichment, these programs are vital to promoting cross-cultural understanding. If you could pass along this information (see below) via the appropriate venues it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much for your assistance and please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or seek further information.

Good news - there's still time to apply for a Fulbright Scholar award in library and information science in the Middle East & North Africa and Eastern Europe! In the Middle East & North Africa, late applications are being accepted for awards in Jordan (#9146, 9147), Lebanon (#9419), and Tunisia (#9440). In Europe, applications are still being accepted for awards in Ukraine (#9377) and Russia (#9347). These awards afford scholars the opportunity to lecture, conduct research, or do a combination of both in affiliation with the faculty and facilities of their host institution. English is sufficient for lecturing, though some French or Arabic is helpful in Lebanon and Tunisia. For all awards, U.S. citizenship and a Ph.D. are required. Take advantage of these opportunities to do specialized work in an international context while promoting cross-cultural understanding!
